the concept

Paul Bryan's early hairdressing background was based on blow-drying with round brushes to produce the best results possible. With this passionate pursuit of blow-drying excellence came a unique experience and understanding of hair care. If hair was over-softened, it was nearly impossible to create body which generally lead to over-use of styling products to create volume, only to find that many products would make the hair sticky or static.

Another way was needed to achieve excellence. Paul Bryan found that setting lotions and mousses would make highlighted hair sticky.  He couldn’t find alternatives at this time so he had to fix the problem at source - stop his clients' hair being over-softened at the back wash.

It was here Paul found that some shampoos were over-softening the hair. So he started shampooing with a cleansing shampoo and limiting the conditioner to the functions of detangling, shine and control.

This produced better results but he still needed a styling lotion that would create body and control without stickiness. It was this defining moment of knowledge that made him realise the simple solution. People were not thinking of the full process, and where were the right products?

• A shampoo that cleansed hair, leaving it fresh, clean and manageable.
• A conditioner that would detangle (comb-ability) all hair types very effectively, and help create shine and control.
• A liquid styler that would help me style any hair type without being sticky, static and add shine and control.

This formed the basis of Paul Bryan's concept and together with years of testing has perfected the Salon Favouritz range.
